PRACTICE GRATITUDE DAILY!
March 15, 2000
By Shelia Shumate
Every day can be a day of gratitude.
Many years ago I read
about a person who gave thanks
before even getting out of bed
in the morning and that thought
really touched me. I began to
apply it to my life back then and
still continue to do it today.
You can do this for yourself and
allow it to become a healing
habit.
First thing when you wake up, give
thanks for a peaceful nights
rest. Even if it was not as peaceful
as you would like, give
thanks that you lived through the
night! Find something to be
grateful for each morning.
Next, start programming the kind
of day you desire, through
your thoughts and feelings. Create
thoughts of joyful things
happening at work instead of dreading
what might happen.
Think thoughts that increase your
faith, instead of worrying
about what might happen. Visualize
yourself driving to work or
school without any problems and
arriving at work or school and
everyone being in a wonderful mood.
Begin to imagine what you
can accomplish rather than what
you think you cannot
accomplish and do all this before
getting out of bed. Create a
feeling of gratitude and notice
what happens throughout the
day.
If someone is irritable, snappy
or angry, keep focused on what
you want to achieve and just send
them loving thoughts.
Remember, just because someone
else is having a difficult day,
does not mean you have to follow
their lead. They might not
have programmed early in the morning
and they started their day
out being worried, upset, or angry.
Take responsibility for your
own thoughts, words and actions.
Look for little things to smile
about and be thankful. Every day
presents itself to us and what
you do with the day is your choice.
Choose Gratitude and Just Be!
WHERE DO YOU LIMIT YOURSELF?
March 2, 2000
By Shelia Shumate
Where are you choosing to limit
yourself? You have strengths, talents and abilities to do whatever
you desire. Napoleon Hill once said “Whatever the mind can conceive
and believe, it can achieve.” Think about what you want to create today.
If you had all the money, time, skills and talents to create whatever you
desire, what would you do? Can you imagine it? Can you
feel it? That is one of the first
steps to creating it. Know what you want, desire it, feel it and imagine
it.
You create situations in your life
through your thoughts, words, emotions and actions. What is your self-talk
throughout the day? In other words, do you say “How will I ever do
this? Should I... Could I... or What if?” Or are you saying
“I am going to
find a way to do this!” "I am
strong and confident" Ask yourself, am I coming from power or weakness?
Are my thoughts of “How will I ever pay my bills? or "I hate paying
my phone bills” or are you thinking “I am
happy to have telephone service," "I am
grateful!” If you decide to come from gratitude when paying your
bills, your energy is positive and creates positive results. Say “I am
so thankful I talked to so many people this month and I thank the telephone
company for providing such a great service.” Then pay it with gratitude
because of the great pleasure it brought you. Think of it in a positive
way. Keep in mind, negative thinking brings negative results. Positive
thinking brings positive results.
If you doubt you abilities, you
are not tapping into your unlimited self. Open to new possibilities!
Next time you hear a voice in your head about any limitations, stop and
change it to one of feeling unlimited, then feel the confidence within.
Trust yourself. Think of something positive to feel. Today, lets think
of unlimited possibilities. Lets stop the negative self-talk and
replace it with one of confidence and positive affirmation of what you
are desiring to manifest, create or achieve in your life. Just Be
all you can be through unlimited thoughts.
Blessings and JUST BE!
